Ephemeral Nature Art
Students will be introduced to the inspiring work of British artist Andy Goldsworthy, who works with natural materials to construct temporary artworks in outdoor wild spaces. Students will then work in groups to explore the Shaw Woods property, choose a special spot and create their own ephemeral nature-based art. The students will have an opportunity to share their artworks with their classmates in a “gallery walk” at the end of the program. Teachers are encouraged to take photos to document their students’ artistic process, for future use back at school.
